Whether you’re moving to Manhattan, a new resident, or just need a refresher on how awesome the town is, look no further! Today we’re highlighting all of the fun activities, best eats, and upcoming spring events in the Little Apple.

Aggieville could easily be Manhattan’s most well-known spot for dining, shopping, and night-life! Looking for the best bar food and a place to watch the game? Visit Tanner’s or Kite’s for delicious appetizers and a cold drink. Head over to So Long Saloon or Taco Lucha to try the famous raspberry black bean dip! Rock-A-Belly Bar and Deli is a go-to spot for a hot sandwich and low-key atmosphere. If you’re in need of some game-day apparel, check out RallyHouse for Kansas State, Royals, and Chiefs spirit wear! Aggieville truly comes alive at night with live music, concerts at The Hat, yard games at Johnny Kaws Yard Bar, and dancing at Dirty Dawg Saloon

Downtown Manhattan (Poyntz Ave) is another hotspot for shopping, dining, and fun activities! The mall offers all your favorite retailers like American Eagle, Dillards, JCPenny, and Bath and Body Works. Just down the street you can find local boutiques that feature cute clothing for all ages and jewelry made by local artists. Downtown Manhattan is also known for its amazing eats that include Manhattan Brewing Company, Bourbon and Baker, AJ’s NY Style Pizza, and El Patron. Looking for something fun to do with the family? Poyntz Ave has axe-throwing and an escape room venue where you can spend an afternoon! Events happening soon in downtown include Pink Up The Pace, an annual 5K fundraising event for breast cancer research, the first ever outdoor public art show in Manhattan, and Third Thursdays!

Have a free afternoon or evening and want to do something fun? The Little Apple has options for the whole family! The Flint Hills Discovery Center serves as an interactive museum where you can learn more about the Flint Hills and Konza Prairie and also features traveling exhibits. If you have a special event coming up, you can also book the Discovery Center as a stunning event venue! The Sunset Zoo is a Manhattan staple as a family visit, an afternoon date, or a solo trip and a great way to spend some time outdoors. Looking for an activity a little more invigorating than just walking? Visit WildWood Outdoor Adventure Park where you can zipline, bungee free fall, and do some light hiking on the outskirts of Manhattan. The park is open seasonally and they also host various events like trail runs and obstacle courses. Manhattan also has plenty of golf courses to choose from if 18 holes and 9 iron sounds like a good time!

Coming up quick just a town over is the annual Tulip Festival in Wamego, KS! Wamego is a short 25 minute drive from Manhattan and has the perfect small-town feeling, especially in the spring. The annual Tulip Festival attracts thousands of visitors each year and features over 150 craft vendors that sell anything from paintings to jewelry to food! Head over to Wamego April 17-18 for a day away surrounded by good food, shopping, and beautiful tulips!
